For the last two years, LAFS Alumni Association Pres. Mario J. Novoa (2000 class) and Joe Byron, has united over 1,000 alumni at the LAFSAA monthly entertainment industry mixer. While Mario sees immense importance in creating spaces for alumni, he has also been producing films, documentaries and promos.
One of Mario's most recent accomplishments was the completion of “TRONA", which will be screening at LAFS October 30th.
This week his documentary feature, "L.A. A Queer History”, was honored by L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti with a Certificate of Recognition from City: for documenting “precious first-hand accounts of LA-based LGBT activists for future generations, and share our unique history with the rest of the world”.
